Technical description of the
service
DataPhone voice service forwards
voice and fax traffic in the form of data packages through the
backbone network of GTS-Datanet. Accession to the GTS-Datanet
network takes place by local call through the network of the
local telecommunications service provider. The local call is
received by the call exchange of GTS-Datanet which possesses
its own prefix number, and which is directly connected to the
GTS-Datanet backbone network. The call exchange transforms
voice and fax traffic into IP packages and forwards these data
packages through the backbone network to the nearest
GTS-Datanet POP. The POP on the other side transforms the IP
back into voice and fax traffic, and finally the originally
international or long-distant call arrives at the called
equipment as a local call.
You do not need to make any
initial investment to be able to utilize DataPhone voice
service. If you have a PABX, by re-programming it the call of
GTS-Datanet call exchange and the submission of your subscriber
–code is automatic, so all you have to do is dial the number
you wish to call. If you do not have a PABX you have to dial
the number of GTS-Datanet call exchange, then submit your
subscriber code, and you can dial the number you wish to call
only after this.
As GTS’s own fibre optic
Internet backbone network provides the highest level IP
connection for its subscribers, your company can exploit the
DataPhone voice service at excellent1 and reliable2
quality.
