The Proteus ATM uses QPSK, 8PSK, 16QAM to achieve a tradeoff between system gain and throughput. Ethernet throughput varies based on packet size. Maximum throughput occurs when the packet size is 64 bytes while minimum throughput occurs for 1518 byte packets.
